This is Wooden Stupa. The Stupa has Buddha statue inside. The Stupa or Chaitya represents the Buddhist Universe, is the Buddhist sanctuary, sometimes round, with spires or steps on the capital. Each spire or step represents a heaven, the uppermost portion being a point which is supposed to be the highest peak or Mount Sumeru, a mythical mountain whence the Buddhichitta loses itself in sunya. On the four sides of the Chaitya the figures of four Dhyani Buddhas Akshobhya, Ratna Sambhava, Amitabha, Amoghshiddhi are placed. The place of Vairochana is in the centre. In some Chaitya Vairochana is placed to the east along with Akshobhya. This 23” Tara Wooden Mask is beautifully carved by the artisans of Kathmandu valley of Nepal who have been in this business for generations. This 16” Wooden Stupa is wonderfully carved. This 10” Wooden Stupa is antiquated so as to make it look ancient. As you can notice in the picture that the stupa looks too old but in fact this 16” Wooden Stupa is not too old stupa as it seems.
